To the kind people of Japan: Greetings on the Mountain Day. We in India in the Indian subcontinent Himalaya (India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibbet, rever the mountains as abode of Gods. Every peak in Himalaya in the Subcontinent including Everest and Kanchanjangha are named after fairies. Every morning, devours prey to mountains All our shrines are located on a peak in lesser Himalaya and even at the altitude of 10000' plus (Badrinath, Kedernath, Tungnath etc. Even in South India it is so. The rivers coming from the mountains are also worshipped and named after Godse's and are considered as female except Brahmaputra (sun of God Brahma) all their sources are worshipped and visited by thousounds of devouts every year for worship and holy dip. We are aware of the respect for mintains and forests, where the Buddhists and Shinto shrines in their tranquality. May all the mountains in the world maintain their tranquality and purity to inspire the generations. Remember, we can never conquer a peak, we can only ascent.
